2013 Armchair Audies: The Romance Nominees

I am so excited to announce that I will be joining in on The Armchair Audies 2013 this year. The Audies is a competition sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA) "recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment".   The Armchair Audies, organized by The Literare Housewife, are a group of bloggers who read the nominees and predict their own  winners. There are 28 categories with 5 nominees in each category. You can see all of the nominees by clicking here. That's a heck of a lot of audiobooks so several of us will be tackling the various categories. If you want to learn more or sign on click on the chair up there.

I chose to review the romance nominees this year because there is no horror category (boo hiss!) and because romance is my second favorite genre. I've only read Nora Roberts and Sharon Sala previously (though not these books) and am looking forward to checking out some new-to-me authors. These are the books I will be listening to before the big ceremony takes place on May 30th, 2013.

The Romance Nominees:

THE WITNESS by
Nora Roberts
Read by Julia Whelan (Brilliance Audio)

NEVER SEDUCE A SCOT by
Maya Banks
Read by Kirsten Potter (Tantor Media)

SCANDALOUS DESIRES by
Elizabeth Hoyt
Read by Ashford MacNab (Hachette Audio)

THE MADNESS OF LORD IAN MACKENZIE by
Jennifer Ashley
Read by Angela Dawe

DON'T CRY FOR ME
Sharon Sala
Read by Kathe Mazur (Audible, Inc./ Harlequin Enterprises Ltd.)

Have you read any of the nominees and/or are you thinking of joining in on the fun? Let me know so I can follow your posts!

  1. Oh how fun! I had no idea that even existed. I've read Maya Banks and Jennifer Ashley (though not histpricals from either of them) and love both ladies. Jennifer writes great shifters and Maya's KGI is one of my favorite suspense series.

I read one a while back by Sharon Sala under her other name which I can't for the life of me remember right now and enjoyed it too.

Hope all the audios are great for these!

    1. Great I can't wait to get going on these! Lucky for me, my library (personal and town) had all of the audio's except for one so I won't go broke tracking them all down.
